AD ASTRA. The song everyone is buzzing about on the forums. I decided to write about this one first because I understand the hype completely.
Epic soundscapes — they nailed the cinematic vibe and the dramatic, surreal dreamscape imagery in the video. I’m continually blown away by the talent encapsulated in this group’s collective brain.
The song is beautiful, and many Reddit posts talk about how amazing it is and how it made people cry. The video is what destroyed me personally, because it’s not just a love song — it’s an “I love you, be safe and happy, but goodbye… forever” song.
Extra spicy in the emotional department, yet still a palatable rock song. The emotion is well hidden if you don’t listen closely — which is how I prefer my emotional songs. Let me dive in when I’m ready; don’t choke me out when I’m driving. That kind of thing.
So the official lyrics haven’t come out yet (aren’t published to YouTube Music, I mean, as of 9/13/2025). The very beginning of this song reminded me of another song, and it took me a full day to figure out which one. I’m pretty sure it’s Sleep by My Chemical Romance.
Honestly this is too much, but in the intro, it sounds like “Palpatine, this is [scrambled]; are we clear?”
Just another banger from Starset, except it might be my actual new favorite Starset song ever. Which seems to be a common sentiment.

The main character in this video is dying. The video makes this very clear. The opening scene, and throughout, the main character is connected to others by threads, until the moment they die and go into space.
Right before he dies, the woman knows and calls the doctors. That is what made me cry.
But, obviously, it could also be talking about space travel; there are some connections in the visuals. I think the lyrics work both ways. I don’t know why anyone would choose to leave someone they really loved behind forever willingly, but it would make sense for the storyline in the novels.
